Update October 11th, 7:00 PM: Rideau River Road is now open.
Grenville County OPP officers say they’ve arrested a suspect in a homicide investigation in Kemptville.
According to police, on Tuesday at 1:30 PM, a deceased person was found in a residence on County Road 19, later identified as 35-year-old Corey Greenwood.
Officers say they found and arrested the suspect, a 27-year-old from South Dundas, three hours later at 4:30 PM. They’re currently facing one charge of second-degree murder.
A stretch of Rideau River Road, between the County Road 43 roundabout and Riverview Lane, was closed as part of the investigation, Provincial Constable Annie Collins says.
Officers say there’s no current risk to public safety but are telling residents to expect an increased police presence in the area.
