Fire Prevention Officer Elizabeth Greenberg says the North Grenville Fire Service is calling for residents to help contribute to research into muscular dystrophy.
Like many other fire stations across Ontario, including in Chesterville, Greenberg’s team is hosting a “Fill the Boot” fundraising campaign for Muscular Dystrophy Canada on Friday, September 29th.
“It’ll start around 4:00 [PM],” Greenberg says. “There’ll be two locations: one will be at Van Buren Street. You’ll see firefighters dressed in bunker gear and carrying a boot with little stickers that say you have donated to Muscular Dystrophy.”
The other location will be outside the Fire Hall on County Road 44, near the Municipal Centre. Greenberg is urging you to slow down and make a donation when you see the firefighters tomorrow. They’ll be collecting donations from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.
