North Grenville raises flag to commemorate Community Living Month

The Municipality of North Grenville is showing support for an organization that supports people with intellectual disabilities in our community.

A new flag is flying outside the municipal centre right now to commemorate Community Living North Grenville, the local branch of an organization that advocates for intellectually disabled people across Ontario.

The municipality has also declared May “Community Living Month,” to coincide with the organization’s annual fundraising campaign.

Mayor Nancy Peckford says the municipality wants to raise awareness for the work Community Living does.

“The inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities is fundamental to a healthy community,” she says, “and we are very proud of the strong relationship that Community Living has with so many of our residents here.”

Jonsson’s Independent Grocer in Kemptville is accepting donations to support the organization throughout May.

You can visit the Community Living North Grenville website to learn more about the organization.
