The flags outside the North Grenville Municipal Centre are flying at half mast today in recognition of Jim Bertram.
Bertram, who served on the municipality’s council from 2014 to 2018, passed away last week.
“On behalf of all residents and business leaders in North Grenville,” says Mayor Nancy Peckford, “council would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Mr. Bertram’s family, along with those who were enriched by his commitment to our community.”
Councillor John Barkley says Bertram was deeply invested in our community.
“He was a ‘people person’ never afraid to speak out on topics he cared about,” Barkley says, “and was a true champion for individual rights and freedoms.”
He was 76 years old, and is survived by his two children and two grandchildren.
