“All the standard protocols are in place”; Kemptville 73s GM on fan attendance

Live sports are returning to Kemptville with the 73’s home opener, and the organization is taking steps to ensure fans at games will be safe.

In an exclusive interview with MyKemptvilleNow.com, Terry Nichols, the general manager for the Kemptville 73s, spoke about what the organization is doing to ensure the safety of fans attending games.

“All the standard protocols are in place, in terms of social distancing,” Nichols says. “I believe the capacity in the rink is, like, around 1,500, and we’re only allowed 270 at the maximum. So, that’ll spread them out.”

“Also, you have to remember, there’s also groups that come, family units. So, we have to make sure that there’s appropriate space between family units, but family units can sit together.”

He also says that requiring fans to present vaccine passports may be a possibility. “We are waiting on clarification from the province and municipality before making a decision,” Nichols says.

The 73’s home opener will be played on September 24th, against the Pembroke Lumber Kings.
