Owners At Lone Wolf Farm Acquire 135 Acres To Expand Operations

The longtime owners of a Merrickville equestrian farm are expanding their land.

Marilyn and Dave McFadden of Lone Wolf Farms have acquired 135 acres of vacant land that was located directly across the road from them.

Marilyn says they’ve been working on this acquisition over the past four years.

“It’s just beautiful, stunning land, and we’ve always dreamed of owning it,” she said. “It happened this past week so, we’re letting everyone know and we couldn’t be more thrilled.”

The McFadden’s have been in the community for nearly 150 years, and the expansion rejoins farmland that was severed off from their property in 1876.

The land will continue to be agricultural but Marilyn says they will be using the perimeter of all the fields as well as the bush for horseback riding, skiing, hiking, sleigh rides and wagon rides.

“To be able to have this acreage and to open it up to our clients, friends and neighbours to ski, hike, and ride on, it’s very special to us to be able to do that,” she said.

Next March, the Farm is celebrating 100 years of operating.

Marilyn says they have big plans for the milestone.
