Eddy and the Stingrays to mark 40 years at New Year’s Eve Party

Kemptville will be rocking and rolling on December 31. The inaugural New Year’s Eve Party is being held at the North Grenville Municipal Centre. Doors open at 8:00pm.

Eddy and the Stingrays are performing and that night marks the start of the band’s 40th anniversary.

Herb Cloutier, who runs Jamming Around Man Productions, is organizing the event. He noted Eddy and the Stingrays are a ‘50s and ‘60s style rock’n’roll band that has played all across Canada and even internationally. Cloutier says it’s an incredible success story to be in music for 40 years.

He explained the New Year’s Eve Party includes great food, an old fashioned spotlight dance, door prizes, champagne toast and the ball drop on a big screen.

The Kemptville District Hospital Foundation will be on site fundraising during the event.

People can call 613-258-7552 to buy tickets, which are $70 each.

Cloutier says there’s no need to worry about a ride home. He explained ATS Transportation has been hired to take people home following the ball drop. Cloutier noted there’s no extra charge and the service is open to anyone within 50 kilometers of the municipal centre.

The goal is to make the New Year’s Eve Party an annual event, according to Cloutier.
