An Ottawa woman is facing several charges after robbing two banks. On Tuesday at about 10:30 in the morning, a woman entered a bank in the South Keys area. She went to a teller with a note saying she had a weapon and wanted cash. No weapon was seen but she got out with an unknown amount of money. On Wednesday at 9:30am, the same suspect went into a bank farther north on Bank Street, and used the same routine to get more cash. This time she was followed by a bank customer, who tipped off police. The suspect was arrested without incident in a nearby business a short time later. No one was hurt in either of the robberies. 43-year-old Laura Chretien of Ottawa is charged with two counts each of robbery and wearing a disguise.She will appear in court today.
