The House of Lazarus has released the names of those who successfully took part in their Hunger Awareness Challenge.
From September 18th to 22nd twelve champions were challenged to live solely off items received from the food bank. Each champion paid $25, to cover the cost of the items taken from the food bank, and was allowed to use ten dollars of their own during the week. A debriefing session was held on September 27th and the successful champions were presented certificates of appreciation.
Some of the participants included community activist Kim Sheldrick, North Grenville District Mayor Barb Tobin, North Grenville Councillor Frank Onasanya, South Dunas Mayor Evonne Delegarde and Merrickville-Wolford Mayor David Nash.
