Leeds and Grenville to host household hazardous waste day

If you have a collection of household hazardous waste items, there’s an event coming up where you can drop them off.

The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville is set to host a Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, September 23rd at the North Grenville County Patrol Garage on County Road 44 just south of Kemptville. It will happen from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

Some items include paint cans, aerosol cans, batteries, motor oil, transmission fluid or brake fluid bottles, pesticides, herbicides, and flammable or corrosive bottles.

The county says waste isn’t accepted from commercial businesses and is open to residents only. The idea of the recycling program is to keep hazardous and special waste materials out of the landfill.
