More than $6,500 was raised for a variety of charities through this year’s OPP Charity BBQ series.
The Grenville County OPP says it surpassed the dollar figure with it’s final barbecue for the Kemptville District Hospital last Thursday. That barbecue managed to bring in nearly $500.
The OPP says the series began 17 years ago as a community outreach program. Each week a different sponsor covers the costs to run the barbecue while a charity or organization benefits. This was the eighth barbecue of the season.
