Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry OPP officers are reporting that more people were charged with impaired driving this holiday season, compared to the last.
Police say that the number of checks during the annual Festive Ride Campaign were up from 155 in 2015 to 213. Eleven drivers were charged with impaired driving this past year, whereas only five were charged a year ago. Four people were also in the warning range and had their driving permit suspended.
Police remind drivers not to drink and drive and will continue to run RIDE checks throughout the year.
