Pte. Blake Williamson Memorial Hall one step closer to getting a facelift

It’s more than the original estimate but the Pte. Blake Williamson Memorial Hall is one step closer to being restored. Members of Council discussed the work to be done on the hall at last night’s meeting. Hubbard & Company’s tender of just over $320,000 plus taxes was recommended for the project. Their original estimate came in close to $100,000 cheaper, but that didn’t include some of the extra costs such as abatement work, and the increase in material costs to replace windows and brick work.

The Municipality of North Grenville has received government funding, as well as $20,000 from the Navy League of Canada towards the project.

If passed by North Grenville Council next week, they’ll dip into the Recreation Reserve Account in the amount of $106,000 to cover the shortfall.
