Over 500 female students were in Kemptville to talk trades. The Women in Trades event last week, gave young women a chance to learn more about considering them as a career choice. Jamie McMillan was the keynote speaker at the event. She says she started off as a waitress and personal support worker but became an apprentice in 2002. McMillan is now an ironworker and boilermaker. Students had a chance to find out more through some trades information booths at the event as well.
