Some residents of Brookside Subdivision in Kemptville concerned about future development due to possible zoning change

Some residents in the Brookside subdivision around Raina Way are concerned about a possible zoning change to 648 and 632 Van Buren Street in Kemptville, which includes Pioneer Nursery. Those properties are just east of the subdivision. An application to change the zoning would allow a range of commercial and some industrial uses. However, to protect nearby residents, limits are put on what type of businesses can be located on the land. While North Grenville Committee of the Whole recommended to council that the change be passed at next week’s meeting, some residents brought up their concerns before the vote including Raina Way resident Paul Louwe.

North Grenville Planner Phil Mosher explained that according to the Official Plan, those lands are designated for these styles of commercial and industrial uses.
