The North Grenville Fire Department is trying to get the word out that smoke alarms don’t last forever. That’s the messaging for this year’s Fire Prevention Week. Firefighters try to educate the public and bring awareness to fire and safety issues during the weeklong event. This year Fire Prevention Officer Shannon Armitage says they’re letting people know that smoke alarms do need to be replaced.
The fire department will be at the Kemptville 73’s game tonight. Families will be able to see the fire truck on display and learn more about this year’s Fire Prevention Week. The week runs from October 9th to 15th. More events are planned throughout the week. More details will be released as the week goes on.
