Environment Canada now says we could see a thick layer of ice buildup due to freezing rain and it could cause power outages. They’re predicting 15mm to 20mm of freezing rain in some areas. Travel isn’t recommended if the buildup does occur with roads, highways and parking lots covered in ice. Environment Canada says the freezing rain will turn to rain sometime in the evening or overnight.
