North Grenville senior girls basketball team was silver medalists at the EOSSAA championships held at Rideau District High School.
In their first game of day 2 the Knights rallied from a late 7 point deficit to take Hawkesbury to overtime where they dominated to win 45-34. Â Senior leader Darien Wrona would not let the Knights lose as she hit three late three pointers to send the game to overtime and had a clutch layup and 4 free throws to ice the victory. Â This victory guaranteed the Knights a spot in the OFSAA Championship next week in Windsor ON.
Unfortunately NG could not keep their momentum against their rivals Rideau in the finals. Â A tired Knights squad could not keep pace with the very talented Lions. Â Despite the loss the Knights are hoping for a favorable seed at the upcoming provincial tournament.
