The 2014 Ride for Dad is scheduled to stop in Merrickville on Saturday. The motorcycle rally starts early Saturday morning with a police-escorted parade through downtown Ottawa before heading out across the Ottawa Valley in a poker run. This year’s route passes through Kanata, Almonte and Merrickville, with a stop at the Merrickville Community Centre on Brock Street. The Ride for Dad raises awareness and funds for prostate cancer research.
