The House of Lazarus was overwhelmed by support from the North Grenville community at a recent food drive. On Thursday, May 8th, members of Keller Williams Solid Rock Realty manned the entrance to Jonsson’s Independent Grocer and handed out grocery wish lists to shoppers as they entered the store. Many of those shoppers returned with bags of much-needed food items to be loaded onto the truck for the food bank. The long winter resulted in a dramatic rise in heating costs, pushing some families over the edge and increasing the demand on local food banks. In all, 1886 pounds of food and over $200 in cash and gift cards were donated, which should see the food bank through the next six weeks.
