A man shot himself in the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Wednesday. The hospital is reviewing security policies and police continue to investigate. The suicide happened around 11am in the washroom of an outpatient psychiatry department. Police are trying to determine where the gun came from, as it appears it was brought into the hospital undetected for an extended period of time. Hospital officials said security procedures will be reviewed to ensure public safety in the wake of this tragic death.
