Incidents around Dixon Road keep police busy

A seasonal off-roading event near Brockville on the weekend has led to a number of charges. On Friday June 5 around 3:30 in the afternoon, two 16-year-old boys were charged with drinking under age during a traffic stop on County Road 15, Augusta Township. Half an hour later and just around the corner on Dixon Road, a driver was charged for having open liquor in the car. Just before 3 o’clock Saturday morning on Dixon, a man was injured when the vehicle he was sleeping under, drove away. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Just after 11:00 Saturday morning, a 17-year-old caught in a traffic stop on Dixon Road was charged with having alcohol. At 6:20 Saturday evening on nearby Brown Road, a speeding ATV slammed on the brakes and stopped in front of a patrolling police cruiser. The 25-year-old female driver from Kingston was charged with exceeding 80 milligrams blood alcohol. At 7:45pm on Dixon Road, an ATV hit a pickup truck. Both the driver and passenger had to be taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
