An 18-year-old has been charged with arson after a barn fire at a dairy farm near Gananoque. Around 8pm Sunday, police were called about a structure fire on Maple Grove Road. Fire departments from Gananoque, Kingston and Leeds Thousand Islands responded to extinguish the flames at the fully engulfed barn. More than 30 head of cattle were lost in the fire, adding to the structure damage for a total estimated loss of more than 2 million dollars. The young man from Leeds and the Thousand Islands Township appears for a bail hearing today in Brockville. The investigation continues.
