In junior girls triple jump Emma Kiesekamp surprised the field and won a bronze medal. Her first jump was 10.53m. The event was then halted due to a storm and the girls had to wait for over an hour before returning to compete. After 3 jumps, with the field narrowed down to 8 jumpers, she sat in 4th place with a best of 10.80m. going into her last jump she sat in 6th place. She saved her best for last. Beating her personal best by 27 cm she nailed a jump of 11.09m to claim 3rd place claiming NG’s first OFSAA track and field medal in memory.
