National Day of Honour to mark Afghan mission

Today is the National Day of Honour. In March, when the last Canadian troops returned home from Afghanistan, Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced that on May 9th the nation would take time to recognize the strength and sacrifice of those involved in the Afghan mission. A national ceremony on Parliament Hill will pay tribute to the fallen, the sacrifices of the wounded, and the special burden borne by families. Canadians will be invited to honour the legacy of these heroes with a national moment of silence at 1:30pm. Learn more about today’s activities or leave a message for our troops at: http://www.app.forces.gc.ca/ndoh-jndc/national-day-of-honour.html.
