MPP Clark says Ontario budget addresses economic concerns of workers and businesses

Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MPP Steve Clark says he’s proud that the Ontario budget addresses the economic concerns of workers and businesses in his riding.

Ontario released its 2026 budget on Thursday projecting a deficit of $12.3 billion this fiscal year along with increased funding for infrastructure, health care and education.

In a media release, Clark says the budget provides more relief for home buyers, ensures further primary care expansion and continues historic investments in infrastructure including an additional $300 million through the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund.

Clark tells Moose FM that the plan also meets the needs of small businesses.

“It responds directly to their call for assistance given the challenges that we face with the tariffs by (U.S. President) Donald Trump.”

He says it also increases annual funding for the Ontario Autism Program, and creates the Classroom Supplies Fund to support elementary students and teachers.

Ontario Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy says the budget helps the province navigate economic challenges with a pragmatic and prudent fiscal plan.
