North Grenville Chamber of Commerce supporting area youth through donation

Local businesses and sponsors of the North Grenville Chamber of Commerce are stepping up to help area youth who are struggling with substance abuse and mental health challenges.

The chamber recently presented a cheque for $8,925 to the Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre with the funds raised as part of the Little Black Dress event that was held in October.

Chamber officials say the donation reflects the generosity and community spirit demonstrated during their recent fundraising initiatives.

They say the Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre’s mission is to help young people and their families find hope, healing, and the tools for long-term recovery and it continues to make a profound impact on families across Eastern Ontario, including right here in North Grenville.

The Little Black Dress event is the lone fundraising gala the chamber hosts during the year.

Funds raised through it also go to helping the chamber continue to offer workshops, networking events, and speaker sessions that they say respond to the changing needs of their members.
