Indigenous Veterans Day being marked in North Grenville

Indigenous Veterans Day will be marked in North Grenville this weekend.

The day, Nov. 8, is a memorial day observed in Canada in recognition of aboriginal contributions to military service, particularly in the First and Second World Wars and the Korean War.

Municipal officials will gather at 10 a.m. at the North Grenville Municipal Centre for a flag ceremony.

Flags will be lowered to half-mast and a wreath will also be laid in honour of Indigenous Veterans.

North Grenville Mayor Nancy Peckford will also be delivering remarks.
