73’s Wrap: Kemptville sets team history with seventh straight win, will look to make it eight this week

The Kemptville 73’s are setting team history and are looking to keep the wheels rolling.

A two game weekend started out with a 6-2 win over the Carleton Place Canadians at the North Grenville Municipal Centre on Friday night.

Six different players picked up a goal for the team and goalie Keegan Carswell stopped 24 of the 26 shots he faced to pick up his second win in the Central Canada Hockey League.

Kemptville’s next game, at home on Sunday afternoon, went to overtime before defenceman Nicholas Voisey scored in overtime to help Kemptville beat Hawkesbury 1-nothing.

Goaltender Rylan Donovan picked up his second shutout of the season with 32 saves.

The win was Kemptville’s seventh in a row, a team record.

The 73’s are in second place in the CCHL with a record of 14GP-9W-4L-1 Overtime Loss for 19 points.

Kemptville will be looking to make it eight straight wins when the Ottawa Junior Senators visit on Wednesday night.
