East Region OPP are reminding you that road safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Police, along with the Ministry of Transportation, say they visually checked 363 vehicles on the first day of a joint initiative on Highway 401 in eastern Ontario.
It began Tuesday and police say they also conducted 35 alcohol screening tests with no violations.
They add that two commercial vehicles were taken out of service and nine tickets were issued for various infractions.
Officers also caught five commercial vehicles using a secondary road to bypass the inspections and MTO scales.
The initiative is ongoing this week.
