Kemptville’s newest neighborhood park is now open.
Located in the Tempo subdivision, North Grenville Mayor Nancy Peckford says the park has been five years in the making as additional land was ultimately required, a design was developed, parents were consulted and the park finally built.
She adds that in a residentially dense subdivision with lots of young families, they are so glad that kids finally have a place to play a little closer to home, and parents can build new connections.
Peckford tells Moose FM that it’s all about making Kemptville feel like home.
“It really contributes to that feeling of community, it helps bring to people together in new and different ways. With lots of new residents to welcome, we want to make sure that we are building community.”
Peckford adds that the park is part of North Grenville’s ongoing efforts since 2020 to upgrade most urban and rural parks, and ensure newer neighbourhoods have adequate play facilities.
