Edwardsburgh Cardinal is paying tribute to one of its own.
The township has named Sheila Bush its 2025 Ontario Senior of the Year.
Officials say her selection celebrates her ongoing generosity, leadership, and dedication to others and they add that whether through her professional work, community service, or athletic accomplishments, Sheila continues to inspire all those around her.
Born in New Brunswick, Bush moved to Ontario to pursue a career in nursing and after graduating in Kingston, she went on to serve more than 25 years at Winchester District Memorial Hospital.
In 2023, Bush captured gold in the Women’s 80+ golf division at the Ontario 55+ Summer Games and she continued her winning momentum in 2024, claiming both the Ontario and Canadian Senior Golf titles.
The Ontario Senior of the Year Award is a provincial recognition presented annually by municipalities to outstanding residents aged 65 and older.
