North Grenville is handing out $15,000 to support equity, diversity and inclusion in the municipality.
At their regular meeting on Tuesday night, North Grenville Council approved the funding that will be shared by five applicants to the new fund created this year.
Municipal staff say five applications were submitted in May and each of the five will receive $3,000 to support initiatives that promote equity, diversity and inclusion values in the community.
They are:
Girls Programming – $3,000
Events for the Muslim Community – $3,000
Inclusive Choir – $3,000
Diversity in STEM Event – $3,000
2SLGBTQIA+ Youth Programming – $3,000
Staff say a committee met on June 12 to review and evaluate all applications with guidance and support offered throughout the process.
