That job offer you received through text may just be a scam.
That’s according to Ontario Provincial Police who say unsolicited texts asking if you’re looking for work are often followed up by promises that seem too good to be true.
Police say that’s because they are and with many students currently seeking job opportunities, they are asking you to be scam smart and learn to recognize the red flags.
They include being offered a job you didn’t interview for, asking you to boost products, apps or merch and asking you to send crypto or online currency to them.
