Grenville County OPP are already planning for the next school year.
Police are partnering with local school boards and the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit for the “Active School Travel” project.
Beginning in September, signs that encourage walking to school and road safety will be posted throughout the municipality along school routes.
Officers say they have already been active in those areas with enforcement and education initiatives ahead of the project launch.
They add they have been engaging with the community and educating youth to improve community well-being.
