Organizers are calling it a reminder of what a great community we live in.
The remark comes after the 42nd Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Telethon raised over $755,000 in its two week campaign which culminated last weekend.
It surpasses the $720,600 raised in 2024 with the money going to supporting equipment, programs and services at the hospital.
CHEO Foundation President Steve Read tells Moose FM that while the hospital is located in Ottawa it really belongs to to a much larger region.
“We serve a lot of kids coming from a lot of different places over the course of the year and this is why we are so lucky to have the community support we have.”
With this year’s campaign now over, Read says attention will shift to focusing on holding another successful telethon in 2026.
