RCMP Musical Ride to perform at 170th Spencerville Fair

Excitement is already building for the 170th Spencerville Fair coming up in September.

In celebration of the milestone, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Musical Ride will be performing as part of the fair on Saturday, Sept. 13.

It’s the only time the ride, made up of 32 uniformed officers executing choreographed cavalry drills to music, will be taking part in a fair in Ontario this summer and organizers say it will be a unique cultural and historical moment for the region.

Eric Connell with the Spencerville Fair tells Moose FM that they are anticipating a large turnout.

“We are expecting around 30,000 if not more people to come through the fair gate over its four days which is quite a large amount of people coming into Spencerville.”

Connell adds that more announcements on entertainment for the fair will be made in the coming weeks.

The Spencerville Fair takes place from Thursday, Sept. 11 to Sunday, Sept. 14.
