Support continuing to grow for proposed multi-sport indoor sports dome in Kemptville

Support continues to grow for a proposed multi-sport indoor sports dome in Kemptville.

Twenty-five champions, various community groups and organizations, have submitted letters of support for the facility which would be built on Kemptville Campus and could potentially open in late 2026 or early 2027.

Right now, the municipality is waiting on word from the provincial government on if their application for $8 million from the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund has been approved.

The dome carries an overall projected total cost of $11.9 million and would be located on municipally-owned land.

North Grenville Mayor Nancy Peckford tells Moose FM that the dome would go a long way in meeting the recreational needs of the community.

“We have the Kemptville Youth Centre, we have the Kemptville Senior Services Centre, all of who recognize that, unfortunately, North Grenville has an acute deficit of indoor recreational spaces.”

Groups looking to support the dome can go to the municipality’s website to submit their own letter of support.
