Edwardsburgh Cardinal’s public works garage now bares the name of a long-time employee.
The municipal facility on Dishaw Street in Cardinal has been renamed the Bill Walter Public Works Garage in recognition of Walter’s 44 year career in municipal operations.
Walter began his tenure in October 1973 and continued until his retirement in June, 2017.
“Bill Walter’s commitment to Edwardsburgh Cardinal shaped the very roads we travel and the community we call home,” said Mayor Tory Deschamps. “A lifetime of dedication leaves a legacy that speaks louder than words. Naming the public works garage in his honour is a testament to a career built on service, integrity, mentoring, and leadership.”
The commemorative signage will be installed at the garage in the coming weeks.
