You’re being reminded to not drift too far away from being safe while on the water.
East Region Ontario Provincial Police say if you’re planning to kayak, canoe, paddleboard or boat that you should keep some safety tips front of mind.
They include making sure you have a lifejacket for each person on board, having a whistle or sound-signaling device and also a waterproof flashlight.
Police say you should also have a floating rope, a bailer or manual pump and a waterproof phone case or communication device.
Most important of all, police say you should always wear your personal flotation device and stay sober.
