Speeding, distracted driving and impaired driving top the list of charges police laid during Canada Road Safety Week.
East Region OPP say between last Tuesday and Victoria Day, they charged 1,303 drivers with speeding with 71 charged with distracted driving and another 47 with impaired driving.
Over 150 drivers were charged with failing to have insurance or having improper insurance.
Police say officers are on the roads day and night, now and through the summer, looking for those who engage in dangerous driving habits.
If you see someone driving dangerously, or suspect someone may be driving impaired, you’re urged to call 9-1-1.
