Residents reminded to be prepared ahead of planned power outage this weekend

Recharge your battery powered household devices.

That advice is coming from Hydro One ahead of a planned power outage on Sunday which is anticipated to begin at 7 a.m. and last until noon.

The installation of new equipment is the reason given behind the outage which will impact areas including Kemptville, North Gower and Manotick.

Hydro One Spokesperson Bianca Pizzo tells Moose FM that the outage is a good reminder to make sure you’re prepared.

“Make sure that your emergency kit is restocked with items like water, non-perishable food, make sure you have cash on hand.”

If you have pets at home, Pizzo says you should make sure they have water and non-perishable food as well.

She adds that updates on the outage can be found on the Hydro One website.
