A new municipal fund is designed to support local organizations and empower grassroots mental health initiatives.
North Grenville says the Mental Health Initiatives Fund supports projects that break down barriers to mental health services and improve system navigation.
They add it also increases mental health literacy and everyday coping skills while promoting positive mental health and well-being.
North Grenville Mayor Nancy Peckford says “mental health challenges can affect all of us – whether personally, or through family, friends, neighbours and colleagues. We know that often the best solutions start here in our neighbourhoods and communities.”
She adds that “over the past few years, this council has worked hard to prioritize mental health by enhancing youth programming and supporting crisis response partnerships with local service providers. This fund builds on that commitment by empowering community-driven solutions and helping residents access the support they need, when and where they need it most.”
Grants range from $500 to $3,000 and can cover up to 75 percent of a project’s total cost.
Eligible non-profit, charitable, and community-based organizations serving North Grenville residents are encouraged to apply for funding support prior to the application deadline of 5 p.m. on June 12, 2025.
