Kemptville District Hospital benefits from Smile Cookie campaign

The Smile Cookie campaign may be over, but smiles continue for more than hundreds of charities and community groups, including in Kemptville.

Locally, Kemptville District Hospital benefits from campaign proceeds.

Tim Hortons said a record-breaking $22.6 million was raised through the sale of the tasty treats this year.

Restaurant owners will be presenting their charity partners with Smile Cookie cheques in the coming weeks. Recipients include hospitals, community care organizations, food banks and schools.

Axel Schwan, President of Tim Hortons, said the company is grateful for the outpouring of support, noting the previous Smile Cookie record was broken.

More than $151 million has been raised since the first-ever campaign in 1996.
