Leeds Grenville MP Gord Brown applauds the federal government’s launch of a comprehensive Mental Health Action Plan for federal offenders that is addressing their serious mental health needs. Brown says this is an excellent start and he congratulates Senator Bob Runciman on his persistence over the years, first as MPP and now as Senator. Runciman says the program is a hopeful indicator that the Correctional Service of Canada is recognizing the need for outside services to effectively deal with the challenge of inmates suffering serious mental illness.
