The Kemptville 73’s are ushering in the future.
The 2025 Central Canada Hockey League Entry Draft was held at the Nepean Sportsplex on Tuesday night and Kemptville selected 12 players who they hope will be a big part of the team.
The first player Kemptville selected in the opening round was Will Mullins, a 15-year-old right winger from Ottawa who had 21 goals and 20 assists with the Ottawa Myers Automotive U16AAA team this season.
Kemptville 73’s Head Coach Shawn Fensel tells Moose FM that the players, including Mullins, will now spend the summer getting ready for next season.
“Give them the time over the summer to make sure that they are putting on some weight and getting stronger and faster so they can push to be a part of our team.”
The first opportunity 73’s fans will get to see the new players on the ice will be at the team’s prospects camp which is scheduled for May 2 to May 4.
