Four!
With the weather turning warmer and summer on the horizon golf courses in the region have started opening up for the season.
That includes the Prescott Golf Club where General Manager Steve Martineau tells Moose FM they opened up for the first time this year this past Sunday.
Martineau says it’s a little later than usual, with the course normally open the first week of April, but he adds that it’s totally dependent on the course conditions and if it’s firm enough to get machinery out to cut the greens and rake the bunkers.
Coming on the heels of the Masters Tournament this past weekend, one of the premier events in the sport, Martineau says they have seen a great turnout.
“The Masters in this area of the country is always the signal the golf season is starting and to have the kind of finish that they had on Sunday, with Rory (Mcllroy) completing the grand slam definitely peaked interest.”
Martineau adds they are still waiting to allow golf carts out onto the course, with flurries expected this week.
