Upper Canada Playhouse to host Highwaymen production

The Upper Canada Playhouse will soon play host to one of music’s true super groups.

The Highwaymen, made up of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson, will be the subject of a show running at the theatre in Morrisburg from Wednesday, Apr. 23 to Friday, May. 2.

Performers will play some of the group’s biggest hits and pay tribute to the four.

Upper Canada Playhouse Artistic Director Donnie Bowes tells Moose FM he’s excited to have the production take the stage.

“At any one particular time one musician always crosses paths with another so the audience will hear the stories of how all of these four people got together to form this band when they were famous in their own right.”

The creator of the show also came up with other hits including Glory Days, Johnny & June & Blue Suede Shoes.
