Update: 9:13 a.m. Friday
A freezing rain warning is now in effect for our region.
Environment Canada says the area will receive significant freezing rain this weekend.
The precipitation is expected to begin as snow or ice pellets with some accumulations before changing over to freezing rain Friday night.
They say the freezing rain may become lighter for a period of time for some areas on Saturday or Saturday night.
The freezing rain will change to rain late in the day on Sunday as temperatures rise above the freezing mark.
The weather agency says you should consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.

It’s a good idea to have flashlights, candles and blankets ready ahead of what’s expected to be a messy weekend weather-wise.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for large parts of Ontario with the weather agency saying it’s expected snow will begin falling Friday night.
Meteorologist Geoff Coulson tells Moose FM that snow will transition into a mix of freezing rain and ice pellets that will continue through Saturday before it ends and a second system moves in, bringing more of the same.
Coulson says it’s still up in the air as to what areas will see what but he adds that we should make sure that we are ready for whatever comes.
“The home emergency kits, if folks do have generators making sure that they are topped up and ready to go.”
Coulson adds that some areas could see as much as 20 millimetres of ice come down.
