OPP hopes 50K reward will be a motivator in solving missing person case

East Region OPP have announced a $50,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the disappearance of a man from Smith’s Falls. 

Lawrence Bertrim, who would now be 44, was last seen on September 30, 2022, around 11 p.m. in downtown Smiths Falls.  

Lawrence is described as 5’6″, 149 pounds with a medium build, brown hair and blue eyes.

OPP say that investigators have followed up on numerous tips from the public and conducted multiple searches with help from Emergency Response Teams including, OPP Canine Unit and OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit.

“This investigation remains active and ongoing. We are hopeful that the announcement of this substantial reward may motivate someone with key information, who has not yet come forward, to do so now.” says Detective Inspector Jennifer Patton.
